Wales headlines 19 April: More trains announced for coronation weekend

A man has been arrested on suspicion of funding terrorism. The man was detained here in Wales, but has since been transferred to London, and is believed to be connected to a diamond trader linked to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah which was deemed a terrorist organisation by the UK in 2019.

Great Western Railway have announced extra trains running from South Wales to London on the day of King Charles’ coronation. Trains will be more frequent and run from earlier in the morning than usual on the 6th May, with many people expected to make the journey to London on the bank holiday weekend.

Wrexham AFC, who are only 1 win away from promotion back to the football league have secured funding for a new 5,500 seater stand at the Racecourse Ground. The new seating will raise the stadium’s capacity to over 15,000, with funding coming from a Welsh government grant backed by the local council.
