Wales headlines 5 April: Mother, boyfriend guilty of toddler’s death

A man has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend’s two year old daughter, as the mother is also found guilty of causing or allowing her death. Kyle Bevan, 31 from Aberystwyth, killed Lola James while he was taking care of the toddler in July 2020. He pled not guilty and blamed the family dog for pushing Lola down the stairs. The pair will be sentenced on April 25th.

There’s been a rise in violence and aggression towards local councillors according to a report. The report says Conwy councillors face a ‘major’ risk from the public, and councillors believe the rise has been worsened since covid. Conwy County Council are launching a project to remedy the problems.

A record crowd is expected at Wales’ six nations tie against England on the weekend. Over 8,000 tickets have been sold for the tie, which would be the highest attendance ever for a women’s rugby game in Wales. The winner of the game will go top, as both sides remain unbeaten so far this year.
