Wales headlines 12 January: ‘Hate crime’ anti-Brummie note left in Aberystwyth
  • 3 months ago
Hospitals around Wales are preparing for three days of industrial action from junior doctors, in which up to 3000 staff members will be taking part. One health board has postponed 80% of planned operations between Monday 15th and Thursday 18th, Eluned Morgan says she is fighting for extra funding from the UK government for new pay offers.

Dyfed Powys Police have said they are investigating a hate crime after a note was put up on a property on Iorwerth avenue in Aberystwyth. The note told Brummies to go back where they came from, and called their accent vomit inducing. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Residents of two small towns are concerned as road works mean a usual 4 mile journey will now take up to 90 minutes. Residents travelling between Macynlleth and Pennal usually have a 10 minute drive between them, but now, with a hospital in Macynlleth, people are worried about the impact this will have.
