"The Maharashtra political crisis has entered the fourth day and there seems to be no end in sight for the next few days at least. On the fourth day too, the number of rebel MLAs with Eknath Shinde is swelling. This morning, Shinde claimed that now he has as many as 50 MLAs with him, out of which 40 MLAs are from Shivsena. Today there are reports that leaders like Bhaskar Jadhav and tandel are also not reachable.
On Thursday night, Eknath Shinde wrote to the Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly Narhari Zirwal asserting his appointment as the leader of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party.
However, in the first bout of this tug of war, Uddhav Thackeray faction seems to have scored over Eknath Shinde. The deputy speaker of Maharashtra Narhari Zirwal rejected the proposal by the Shinde camp to appoint Bharat Gogawale as chief whip and instead accepted the proposal by the Uddhav Thackeray camp to appoint Ajay Chowdhury as the leader of Shivsena legislature party.
