President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Talk to the People Heroes Hall, Malacañan Palace March 21, 2022 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte meets with several Cabinet Secretaries to discuss various issues of national concern, including the latest updates on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country, in his regular Talk to the People held in Malacañan Palace on March 21, 2022.

The President relays his recent visit to Leyte where he inaugurated the Tacloban City Bypass Road and the new Leyte Provincial Capitol in the Municipality of Palo, as well as turned over various government projects in Region VIII. These included the partial turnover of completed housing units located at the Peace and Prosperity Village in San Isidro, Leyte and the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOA) to representatives of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs). On COVID-19, he says that despite the low number of positive cases in the country, he is not inclined to remove the mandatory wearing of face mask, citing that the pandemic is far from over with recent reports of a new variant overseas.

The Chief Executive tackles the economic effects of the Russia-Ukraine conflict to the country, particularly inflation due to the high prices of petroleum products. He discusses the continuing problem of illegal drugs, stressing that it breeds criminality, and calls on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to be more proactive and be given additional support from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
