President Rodrigo Roa Duterte convenes several Cabinet members to discuss the government’s response on various issues of national concern, including the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country, updates on the relief and rescue operations in areas affected by Typhoon ‘Jolina’, and the ongoing preparations to mitigate the projected damages of Typhoon ‘Kiko’ as it continues heading to the northern part of Luzon.

For the first part of the meeting, the Chief Executive listens to Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero De Vera III for the accomplishment report, program updates and proposal on the resumption of face-to-face classes of the two (2) Agencies.

Furthermore, President Duterte asks his ‘kababayans’ for understanding and patience as the government continues to work on implementing the necessary measures in reducing the risks of COVID-19 infections and further refine the guidelines on the implementation of General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with Alert Level System in the National Capital Region (NCR).
