President Rodrigo Roa Duterte meets with several Cabinet members to discuss the most recent developments on the government’s response against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and other pressing matters of national concern in his first Talk to the People this month of November.

The Chief Executive reports the progress of the mass inoculation program in the country, which currently has 59.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered, making 35% of the country’s population fully vaccinated. He expresses confidence that the country will succeed in reaching its target of vaccinating more than 50% of the population by the end of the year, citing the month of October as a positive indication with the national government exceeding its set target of jabs to be administered.

With the recent steady stream of vaccine supplies arriving in the country, President Duterte conveys his gratitude to several countries that made significant donations, namely Japan, United States, China and South Korea, among other vaccine donors.

To achieve the target of one (1) million jabs administered per day in the whole country, President Duterte instructs the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to provide assistance to the local government units (LGUs) in the delivery of vaccines and mobilization of resources.
