Optic neuritis is a condition in which your optic nerve becomes swollen. If you usually lose sight in one eye or have a dark appearance before the eyes, then it may be a symptom of optic neuritis. To diagnose this condition, its symptoms must be known. Dr. Mahipal Singh Sachdeva, director of the Center for Sight, says that this is a medical condition. ऑप्टिक न्यूराइटिस (Optic Neuritis) एक ऐसी स्थिति होती है जिसमें आपकी ऑप्टिक नर्व सूज जाती है। अगर आपको आमतौर पर एक आंख से दिखना बंद हो जाता है या आंखों के सामने अंधेरा छाने लगता है तो यह ऑप्टिक न्यूराइटिस (Optic Neuritis) के लक्षण हो सकते हैं। इस स्थिति का पता करने के लिए इसके लक्षणों का जरूर पता होना चाहिए। सेंटर फॉर साइट के डायरेक्टर डॉ. महिपाल सिंह सचदेवा कहते हैं कि यह एक मेडिकल स्थिति होती है। जिसमें ऑप्टिक नर्व सूजने से मेलिन जो कि एक फैटी सब्सटेंस होता है और नर्व्ज को कवर करता है, डैमेज हो जाता है। यह मेलिन नर्व को विजुअल जानकारी को आंखों से दिमाग तक पहुंचाने में मदद करता है। अगर इस नर्व में सूजन या कोई दिक्कत आ जाती है तो आपको कुछ समय के लिए दोनों आंखों से दिखना बंद हो सकता है और आंखों में दर्द भी हो सकता है।
