Political analyst Wong Chin Huat said new leadership would be the best scenario for Umno to face the 15th General Election, but this will depend on when the election is called.

Wong said among of the leaders who could fit the role are Mohamad Hasan or Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said despite Khairy being in Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's cabinet currently, the Rembau MP is still popular in Umno.
