Political scientist Wong Chin Huat said one of the reasons that the government had failed to manage the pandemic and economy is because MPs are unable to do their job.

He said there were many policy blind spots due to the narrow base involved in the policy making process.

He also called for Parliament to reconvene with the setting up of more parliamentary special select committees.
