President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are racing to drive out the votes of Americans not among the more than 91 million who already cast early ballots as an election that started months before the pandemic, and then was defined by it, heads into its final, frantic hours.
Tuesday's moment of destiny and what could turn into a prolonged count owing to the crush of mail-in votes will decide whether Americans reject Trump after a single term or re-up for four more years of his brazen presidency.
It will unfold as the novel coronavirus emergency surges out of control all over the nation, in the wake of record daily infection rates and with the number of deaths climbing toward 1-thousand per day.
The final countdown before Election Day: Katie Gregory, White House correspondent for Reuters joins us live from Washington, D.C.
The final countdown is on before Election Day, both President Trump and his Democratic rival Joe Biden have been on a campaign blitz over the weekend, so Katie where are they travelling to today in what will be their final attempts to reach voters?
Joe Biden has been focusing quite a bit on the three states that President Trump won by less than a percentage point back in 2016 - Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Is the blue wall back? Is Biden going to win Michigan?
Katie, pre-election voting has now surpassed two-thirds of all ballots cast during the 2016 presidential election. With more than 91-point-6 million Americans already having cast their ballots so far, there are expectations of a record voter turnout this election.
What are the polls saying at the moment? Is there any clear leader at this stage?
We know there have been concerns about unrest on the streets leading up to the election and once the result is announced, have there been any signs of this yet?
Katie Gregory, White House correspondent for Reuters reporting live from Washington, D.C. for us. Thanks, Katie, for that.
