Keeping safe from COVID-19 this Halloween

South Korea reported 1-hundred-fourteen new COVID-19 cases on Friday.
93 were locally transmitted and 21 were from overseas.
But health authorities are worried that the Halloween weekend could bring more cases.
So government officials, Itaewon businesses, and Halloween party-goers are all coming together to prevent a superspreader event this Halloween.

This is Itaewon during Halloween last year.
Yongsan-gu district office estimates more than 100-thousand people visited the area in a single day.
But this year... crowds of this size create the perfect conditions for a COVID-19 outbreak.
Itaewon businesses are trying make sure that doesn't happen.
More than 20 bars and clubs in Itaewon will voluntarily shut down this Halloween.
Itaewon Business Federation is also installing a special prevention gate on the entrance of the area's busiest street.
Visitors use a QR code to pass through the gate, which takes their temperature and sprays them with disinfectant.
Seoul city government officials will also inspect some 170 businesses to see if they are following social distancing guidelines over the weekend.
Bars, restaurants and entertainment facilities have to keep entry logs and make sure customers keep a safe distance apart.
Businesses that break these rules will be ordered to shut down for two weeks.
"This is the club that usually teems with party-goers looking for a night of Halloween fun.
But this year, these doors will be tightly shut due to the pandemic.
So many are coming up with new ideas to celebrate the Halloween spirit, without running the risk of spreading the virus."
Take Jake Hanus, who is going hiking in his Halloween costume instead.
"Well, this year because of the pandemic, we don't wanna go anywhere where there's a lot of people, so we're go gonna go to the mountains... I don't like to brag, but it was my idea. I really like wearing my costume in public...I plan on social distancing and partying hard."
The safest bet though might be to stay indoors and watch a scary movie.
But health authorities still expect up to 80,000 people to visit Itaewon this Halloween.
