Kim Dami has the details.
South Korea reported 125 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
Of those new cases, 106 were local transmissions.
This is the first time in almost a week that the number of local cases has exceeded the one hundred mark.
Those local cases have been centered on the Seoul Metropolitan area.
And most of them are at places that are vulnerable to the virus such as senior centers.
But following eased social distancing measures, sporadic cluster infections are now popping up at small family gatherings, workplaces and saunas.
At least 45 people have been confirmed positive after a golf lunch in Yongin city, Gyeonggi-do Province.
And with the Halloween weekend just around the corner, health authorities are tightening virus prevention measures at high-risk places.
In fact, major nightclubs in popular Halloween spots like Itaewon have decided to close down over the weekend over virus concerns.
With one more new death, the death toll now stands at 462.
