A volunteer for AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine trial has died in Brazil... but trials continue.
This is according to Brazil's Health Authority on Wednesday.
Oxford University, which is in partnership with the developer, says there are no concerns over the safety of the trials.
According to Reuters, if the volunteer had received the COVID-19 vaccine, the trial would have been halted, suggesting the person was in a control group that received a different shot.
An independent review board will also stop trials if there are any concerns over the safety of the vaccine.
So far, 8-thousand of a planned 10-thousand volunteers have been recruited and many have even received a second shot.
