Anti-government protesters took to the streets of Bangkok on Sunday, defying a ban on demonstrations.
This comes despite the arrest of dozens of fellow protesters and the use of water cannons by the police.
And much of the city's subway was also shutdown to suppress the movement.
"They think that by arresting the protest leaders, we'd be deterred somehow. But instead we felt even more desperate, wondering how dare they treat us like this?"
Pro-democracy rallies have spread across Thailand in recent months, mostly among youth calling for the reform of the country's monarchy and the constitution.
They also call for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, who first came to power during the 2014 coup.
