A Japanese tourist, who travelled to Peru to see the ruins of Machu Picchu, has finally achieved his dream after nearly seven months of waiting in the country.
The 26-year-old arrived in Peru in March, with a goal to see the stone ruins during his three-day stay.
But the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly cancelled his reservation, and lockdown measures left him and other travelers stranded.
Many tourists sought help from their respective governments and returned home, but the man refused to leave before he visited the famous archeological site.
He submitted a request explaining his situation, and was finally allowed in, becoming the first visitor in months to enter the world heritage site.
The tourist, in a video filmed during the tour, expressed gratitude for the approval of his one-person visit.
