WHO "집단면역 논의는 비윤리적…선택사항 아니다"

In a news briefing on Monday, the head of the WHO denounced discussions of a 'herd immunity' strategy against the COVID-19 pandemic by calling it 'ethically problematic.'
He said that there's a misunderstanding with how people conceive herd immunity,... and that many think that it can be reached by simply letting the virus spread
But he emphasized that herd immunity can only be achieved with vaccination,... and the majority of the population has be vaccinated so that there's little risk of spreading it to the minority who aren't.
The WHO chief pointed out that anything that falls short of that is not an apt strategy to tackle an outbreak, and is quite frankly 'unethical.'
