S. Korea's industrial output down 0.9% m/m in August; consumption up 3%

South Korea's industrial output fell in August for the first time in three months.
But despite the resurgence of COVID-19, consumption was up.
According to Statistics Korea, industrial production was down zero-point-nine percent from the month before,... with a decline in manufacturing of point-seven percent and in services of one percent.
As for consumption, retail sales were up three percent from a month earlier led by sales of home appliances.
Facility investment fell four-point-four percent on-month... led by declines in machinery and transport equipment.
