European plane manufacturer Airbus has unveiled plans to bring hydrogen-powered passenger planes into service by 2035.
The aerospace giant on Monday revealed three different aircraft types that differ in size and style, but use hydrogen as their primary source of power.
The company is hopeful the three concepts could foreshadow what the first zero-emission plane might look like.
Airbus estimates that hydrogen has the potential to reduce aviation's carbon emissions by up to 50 percent.
The aviation giant plans to choose the final concept by 2025.
