A Standing Buddha statue estimated to date back roughly one thousand years has been found on Bukhansan Mountain in Gyeonggi-do Province.
According to the national park's office, the statue was found in two pieces during an excavation survey on Saturday at a valley below Insubong Peak in the city of Goyang.
Although the 2-point-six-meter statue was found broken at the neck, the shapes of its face and body remain relatively intact.
Based on its short nose, hand location and attire, ...experts say the statue is from the early Goryeo Dynasty.
