Time magazine uses black cover border marking nearly 200,000 U.S. deaths

Time magazine has used a black border on its cover instead of its trademark red border... commemorating the nearly 200-thousand Americans who have died from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The death count in the U.S. from February 29th to September 8th is listed on the cover, based on data from Johns Hopkins University.
The words "An American Failure" are written in red letters on the bottom.
This is only the second black border in Time's publishing history.
The first was when Time published its September 11th, 2001 issue showing the Twin Towers before they fell.
