Lee Mak-dal, victim of Japan's wartime sex slavery, dies at age 97

Another one of the South Korean victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery has died.
According to the The Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance, Lee Mak-dal passed away on Saturday in Busan at the age of 97.
With her death, there are now just 16 surviving victims registered with the government.
Lee Mak-dal was forced to serve as so-called 'comfort woman' at Japanese military brothel in Taiwan at the age of 17.
In 2005, she registered with the government as a victim of wartime sex slavery.
Her funeral will be held privately, in accordance with the wishes of Lee Mak-dal and her family
