Retail sales in South Korea jumped 4-point-4 percent in July from a year earlier… as people shopped more online.
While offline sales dropped 2-point-1 percent on year,… online sales rose by more than 13 percent.
By product, sales of groceries and home appliances jumped 6 percent and 17-point- four percent, respectively.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy attributed the surge in online sales not only to the pandemic but also to this year's record-long monsoon.
