A flood of job losses are expected in the U.S. aviation industry as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate air-travel demand.
American Airlines said on Tuesday that it will cut 19-thousand jobs in October,... as federal aid that cover payrolls and protect jobs expires at the end of September.
The planned job cuts comprise of 17-thousand-5-hundred furloughs of union workers including pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics and 15-hundred workers in management position.
Other U.S. airlines have also warned of job cuts.
Delta Air Lines says it plans to furlough more than 19-hundred pilots in October, but said the numbers could be reduced, if they reach a cost-cutting agreement with the labor union.
