South Korea's current account surplus for the first half of the year shrunk to its smallest in eight years mainly due to a fall in goods exports amid the pandemic.
The Bank of Korea said on Thursday, the country's current account surplus for the first half of 2020 stood at slightly over 19 billion U.S. dollars,... down roughly 15-point-three percent from the same period last year.
Exports in the first half of 2020 fell 13-point-one percent on-year to 242 billion dollars.
The central bank attributed the drop to the slowdown in global trade.
