S. Korea's Anasis II satellite reaches final position in geostationary orbit

South Korea's first military communications satellite has reached its final position in its geostationary orbit, ten days after blasting off from Florida.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration said the Anasis-II satellite reached some 36-thousand kilometers above Earth on Friday at 7:11 AM, Korea time.
Once a series of tests by its manufacturer and the military are complete by the end of year.,.. the satellite will be used to cope with network centric warfare with its increased transmission capacity and anti-jamming functions.
It's also expected to boost long-distance wireless communications, particularly for troops deployed overseas.
