President Moon Jae-in has decided not to open greenbelt zones to development... to preserve the areas for future generations.
The president made his position clear putting an end to weeks of controversy on whether to lift the restrictions... to build homes in response to the capital's soaring real estate prices.
The government instead will consider using other land owned by the state or public institutions.
And with the real estate issue dealing a blow to the government's approval ratings,.... President Moon, separately, urged all possible measures to ensure floating money in the asset market goes to productive investments and not property speculation.
Moon noted that there's capital liquidity of some 2-and-a-half trillion U.S. dollars.
Policies, President Moon said, need to ensure that liquidity leads to corporate investment and household income.
