North Korea claims the regime has begun conducting clinical trials to develop its very own COVID-19 vaccine.
Pyeongyang's science research council released a report on Saturday that scientists at the North's State Commission of Science and Technology are currently conducting clinical trials to create a vaccine for the virus.
The report said North Korea has confirmed the immunogenicity and safety of its candidate vaccine through animal tests and clinical trials that started this month.
Pyeongyang added that scientists are in discussions to carry out a third phase of the clinical study.
The North has been insisting there are zero COVID-19 cases in the regime.
