Naver, Hyundai Motors reveal group visions aligned with Korean New Deal

The Korean New Deal is a national initiative that combines the role of the government ALONG WITH the corporate sector in making significant steps forward.
And that is why two major Korean companies, Naver and Hyundai Motor, spoke about THEIR plans.

As the Moon Jae-in administration layed down the details of its New Deal initiative on Tuesday, private companies also revealed their visions for the project.
For the Digital New Deal, CEO Han Seong-suk, who leads Korea's top search engine Naver, presented the company's plans to share its 20-year-old data cloud with a range of industries... and pave the way towards the 4th Industrial Revolution.
"Naver will invest in startups and nurture talented workers in the Artificial Intelligence field. Based on our data pool, we will also create innovative financial services for small business owners and the newly employed.
Han also expressed hopes for the government to create the kinds of policies that can help make Korean companies world leaders in the digital field.
For the Green New Deal, Hyundai Motors executive vice chairman Chung Eui-sun introduced the carmaker's vision to become a leader in electric cars by selling one million units and growing its market share to more than 10 percent by 2025.
"The Green New Deal is an important future-oriented business policy. Hyundai Motors will strive to become a world-class eco-friendly company, especially when it comes to electric cars and hydrogen-powered cars. We will also work with startups and small firms to create more jobs."
Hearing about the Korean New Deal, citizens say they hope it will bring actual changes to their lives.
Teacher: "I wonder if we'll be able to have high-quality, fun classes through remote learning."
Jobseeker: "I hope the Korean New Deal will create lots of good jobs."
Environmentalist: "Let's build a zero-carbon society by getting rid of outdated buildings"
Together with the private sector and the public, the Moon administration hopes the New Deal will not only prepare the country for the post-coronavirus era but also make South Korea a country that advances through the next century by creating new jobs and fostering economic growth.
