Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia Motors have sold more cars in Western Europe than Japanese automakers Toyota and Honda combined for each of the last seven years... and that trend continued to persist in the first half of this year.
According to the South Korean carmakers, they sold five-hundred-and-fifty thousand cars in the January to June period this year, seventy-thousand units more than Toyota and Honda combined.
The two automakers under Hyundai Motor Group have seen a gradual increase in their European sales since 2012 reaching its one million-unit sales milestone last year.
Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors together make up roughly six percent of all automobiles sold in Western Europe.
