In just 24 hours, global cases of COVID-19 have surged by more than 230-thousand, the steepest rise so far.
In the U.S. the state of Florida has seen the highest number of cases so far.
As for a vaccine, a French expert says it's unlikely that a vaccine will be ready even by next year.

The World Health Organization on Sunday reported another record increase in the number of daily COVID-19 cases -- a staggering 230-thousand-370 cases in a period of 24 hours.
That's about two thousand more than the previous record set just two days earlier.
The biggest increases were in the U.S., Brazil, India and South Africa.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday reported almost 63-thousand new cases, raising the U.S. tally to more than 3-point-2 million.
Florida logged the most of any state in a single day so far at more than 15 thousand cases.
According to analysis by Reuters, if Florida were a country, it would rank fourth globally for the most new cases in a day following the U.S., Brazil and India.
This comes just a day after parts of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, reopened to a limited number of guests.
Meanwhile, India logged more than 28-thousand cases on Monday, raising the nationwide total to 878-thousand.
Authorities in several cities in India are putting strict lockdowns back in place.
With cases rising all around the world, a French expert has given a grim outlook in terms of vaccine development.
Arnaud Fontanet, a senior government adviser on science said on Sunday that there's a little chance a 100-percent effective COVID-19 vaccine will be available by next year.
He said people will have to "live with the virus," and urged the public to take social distancing more seriously.
