This day marks the 26 years since the death of the regime's founder,... and Kumsusan Palace of the Sun is where the embalmed bodies of the North's previous leaders, Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il lie in state.
Kim Jong-un's visit comes months after he reportedly did not visit on the birthday of Kim Il-sung in April.
