President Moon Jae-in, this Tuesday morning, paid tribute to the country's independence fighters,... by visiting the cemetery that houses the remains of the founding members of the country's provisional government during Japan's colonial rule.
His trip to Hyochang Park in the capital Seoul comes as Korea welcomes the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement and the founding of the provisional government on April 11th, 1919.
The president's tribute to the fallen independence fighters shows his recognition of the provisional government as a legitimate predecessor of the Korean government,... a contrast from previous administrations that had promoted the government established after Korea's liberation in 1945.
