Torrential rainfall continues to strike Japan's southwestern region of Kyushu,... forcing over 1-point-3 million people in the region and nearby provinces to evacuate their homes.
The death toll from the rain has rose to at least 56 on Tuesday,... and the number is expected to climb further as the rain is causing flood and mudslides.
The Japanese government has designated the downpour as a specified disaster,... and explained that it will continue to stay vigilant as heavy rain is forecast for the nation's northeastern region as well.
