S. Korea's 'Donghaeng Sale' brings in millions of dollars in first week

South Korea is holding a nationwide retail event called the Donghaeng Sale... to boost consumption.
And a week into it,... the sales figures have been better than expected.
The event has an official show streamed online,... and it's on home shopping TV channels.
Through those, official figures show... sales of more than 4-point-2 million U.S. dollars.
In fact, 21 out of 30 items featured on the live stream, including pickled seaweed, have sold out.
Also, sales at local traditional markets during the first week... jumped more than seven percent from the week before... to around three-point-two million dollars.
