WHO says S. Korea "on track" with COVID-19 control, but risks remain

Despite the recent uptick in the number of COVID-19 infections in South Korea,... the WHO says the country is on the right track with its virus control measures.
According to Michael Ryan,... the executive director of the WHO health emergencies program,... there was just a three-percent increase in cases in South Korea last week,... and only three deaths,... with the majority of new cases linked to existing and recognized clusters.
While Ryan expressed confidence in South Korea's ability to contain the spread of the virus,... he reaffirmed the importance of remaining vigilant in the fight against the virus.
