The United States is planning to withdraw its troops from South Korea and other ally nations.
That's according to former U.S. ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, in an interview with German daily 'Bild Zeitung.
He said that the Trump administration has a long term plan to remove U.S. troops from countries including South Korea, Japan, and Iraq.
The Trump administration has already begun talks to reduce its military presence in Iraq.
However, South Korea's defense ministry said in response that no discussions have taken place between Seoul and Washington about a possible troop withdrawal.
