S. Korean gov't emphasizes distancing in daily life despite decline in newly confirmed cases

South Korea's recent cluster of COVID-19 infections linked to a logistics center is showing signs of decline.
But the South Korean government says, it's not time to let the guard down yet.

The South Korean government once again urged the public to practice social distancing measures in daily life as the country continues to report community-based transmissions.
As of Saturday, the COVID-19 cluster infection linked to a Coupang distribution center in Bucheon has reached 1-hundred-8 in total..., 35 of whom were infected through contact with the center's employees.
The total number of confirmed cases related to the Itaewon district now stands at 2-hundred-69, after adding 3 new cases on Saturday.
While South Korea's daily confirmed cases declined for the third day in a row to 39, officials are still emphasizing the need for people's participation in daily quarantine measures.
"There are still cases that are difficult to track the link of infection, and the cluster infection linked to the Bucheon logistics center poses a high risk of community transmissions."
The official added that it is crucial to take extra care, especially in the metropolitan area... where there are many places that are vulnerable to further infections such as health care and religious facilities.
Being cooperative with the epidemiological surveys and undergoing testing if showing any symptoms were also emphasized.
Yet, the Deputy Director also said that there have been some successful cases of containing the further spread of the virus from cluster infections.
Mentioning earlier cases that originated from a religious group and a large clinical facility, he assured that the so-called "second wave" of infections can be prevented with sufficient preparation.
