Dr Harsh Vardhan ने WHO Executive Board के Chairman का संभाला पद | वनइंडिया हिंदी

India would now be playing a more prominent role at the World Health Organisation (WHO), with Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan set to take charge as chairman of the WHO Executive Board at its 147th session. Vardhan would succeed Dr Hiroki Nakatani of Japan, currently the Chairman of the 34-member WHO Executive Board.

केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री डॉ. हर्षवर्धन ने शुक्रवार को विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के कार्यकारी बोर्ड के चेयरमैन के रूप में कार्यभार संभाल लिया. कार्यकारी बोर्ड में 34 तकनीकी रूप से योग्य सदस्य शामिल हैं, इनका कार्यकाल तीन साल होगा. चेयरमैन का पद एक-एक साल के लिए क्षेत्रवार रोटेशन के आधार पर चुना जाता है. डब्‍ल्‍यूएचओ के कार्यकारी बोर्ड का मुख्य मुख्य काम हेल्‍थ असेंबली की ओर से लिए गए निर्णय और नीतियों को लागू करना और इसके कार्य को सुविधाजनक बनाना है.
