South Korean prosecutors are demanding a 35 year jail sentence for the country's disgraced former president Park Geun-hye in her retrial for bribery, abuse of power and embezzlement charges.
During a hearing at the Seoul High Court Wednesday, the prosecution asked the judge to sentence Park to 35-years behind bars and fine her 2.7 million U.S. dollars.
It added that despite her illegal acts, Park has shown no sign of remorse and it called on the court to demonstrate the rule of law.
The 68-year-old was impeached by lawmakers in late 2016 and kicked out of office the following year.
She's currently serving a 32 year jail sentence for bribery, abuse of power, election law violations and other charges.
