Flood alert in Delhi as water level in Yamuna nears danger mark

Delhi Government on Friday issued a flood alert in the national capital as water level in Yamuna flows close to danger mark due to heavy downpour for the past few days. Water level was likely to touch warning mark by tomorrow with 1.31 lakh cusecs of water being released from Hathni Kund barrage due to heavy rainfall in the hills. According to officials, water is likely to reach Delhi-NCR by Saturday following which an alert has been sounded. Currently, the water level in Yamuna was just below the danger mark which is at 204.8 meters.
