Eight people,... most of them students, have been confirmed of COVID-19 after coming into contact with an instructor working at a private academy in Incheon who had contracted the virus at a nightclub in Itaewon, Seoul.
Incheon City said Wednesday that five high-schoolers, one middle-school student, a parent and a colleague have tested positive.
Those students were either attending the same private academy as the infected instructor,... or were being tutored by the instructor.
The instructor had reportedly lied about their workplace during an earlier investigation.
"Incheon City is going to sue the infected patient number 102 based on the contagious disease prevention act as the patient lied during the investigation about their job, where they had been, and that they taught students."
Currently, over one-thousand people are being tested in relation to the case,...as they had attended the same churches in Incheon as two of the eight people.
As of midday Wednesday, the total number of infections related to the nightclubs in Itaewon had reached 119.
Seventy-six of them were infected at the clubs,... while the rest were secondary infections.
Seoul had the most cases,... followed by Gyeonggi-do Province.
But the cluster infection has spread out to other regions too,... including Busan and Jeju.
South Korea reported 26 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday,... most of which were related to the cluster infection in Itaewon.
The total number of infections in the country now stands at 10-thousand-962.
