S. Korea to launch new body to support development of COVID-19 treatments, vaccines

South Korea will be launching a special body comprised of government officials and civilian experts this week... to help support the early development of treatments and a vaccine for COVID-19.
The top office said Sunday that the team will be overseeing the developments of treatments and vaccines... and will be making swift decisions to clear obstacles along the way.
Making up the team will be top officials from the ministries of health, science, finance, SMEs and food and drug safety,... as well as the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This comes after President Moon Jae-in called last week for full governmental support for the development of treatments and vaccines.
Blue House officials will also be launching a consultative body of their own to review relevant situations.
