Driver gets stuck in river after Typhoon Kammuri in the Philippines

People in a car have been rescued after the vehicle got stuck in a raging river on its way to deliver aid to the victims of the recent Typhoon Kammuri in the Philippines.

The vehicle was trying to cross the swollen stretch of water in the town of Nakar in Quezon province but suffered engine problems on December 4.

Mountaineers Bimboy Soque and his friends had planned to push through with their outreach program despite the strong wind and rain from the typhoon.

The group had brought food donations for indigenous peoples in Nakar using their vehicles. But unfortunately, one of the cars broke down due to bad weather.

Footage shows a pick-up truck owned by one of the volunteers pulling the broken down car across the river.

The team was able to return home safely later in the evening on that day.
