Korail workers to launch indefinite strike starting Wednesday

The Korean Railway Workers' Union will go on strike starting at 9 A.M. tomorrow, which will be their first indefinite strike in three years.
The announcement came after KORAIL workers and management again failed to reach a compromise on wages and employee numbers yesterday.
South Korea's transport ministry said it will send substitute workers to operate KORAIL's high-speed KTX and commuter trains, but disruption to passenger and freight train services are expected.
The operation rate for the KTX bullet trains is expected to fall to 69 percent, while commuter trains will be at 60 percent and freight trains at 30 percent.
