S. Korea hopes to paint clearer picture for partnerships with ASEAN through 2019 ASEAN-KOREA Commemorative Summit

Just one week from now, Korea will host 10 leaders from the ASEAN member states,... for a pair of special summits in the Southeastern port city of Busan.
President Moon Jae-in hopes to strengthen Seoul's partnership with those countries,... and map out a blueprint for future cooperation,... through separate one-on-one meetings with all of the leaders present.

President Moon Jae-in will handle a jam-packed diplomatic schedule in the coming weeks,... as he plays host to all 10 ASEAN member nations in the 2019 ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit and the first Mekong-Korea Summit.
South Korea's presidential office announced Sunday that the president plans to sit down with the leaders of all 10 countries visiting Korea for the special summits-- before, during and after the meetings,... set to take place in the country's port city of Busan for three days from November 25th.
The top office added the summit will allow South Korea to engage in "wide-ranging and in-depth" discussions on ways to upgrade partnerships on trade, infrastructure, defense and people-to-people exchanges.
The President also hopes to draw further support for his vision of peace on the Korean Peninsula.
"Through the summit meetings, the leaders will reaffirm ASEAN's support for the Moon administration's peace process, and also discuss ways to further establish peace and prosperity beyond the Korean Peninsula."
On top of the multilateral summit meetings,... the President will hold one-on-ones in Seoul with the Singaporean Prime Minister and Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkia before heading down to Busan.
For his first two days in Busan,... President Moon will also sit down with the leaders of Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar and Laos.
Back in Seoul,... meetings with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the 27th and with the Malaysian PM are also scheduled on back-to-back days.
This will be Moon's second time meeting with the ASEAN leaders-- as the President had toured all 10 countries in the first half of his term.
The presidential office sees the latest gathering as an opportunity to cement relations while mapping out a clearer blueprint for future cooperation.
