President Moon to hold talks with U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Friday

Meanwhile, President Moon Jae-in will be meeting at the Blue House Friday afternoon...with U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley.
Also joining the talks will be South Korea's National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong.
They will likely discuss issues regarding their alliance, including defense-cost sharing for American troops stationed here, as well as joint military exercises.
But topping the agenda... is expected to be Seoul's military pact with Tokyo, GSOMIA, which is due to expire next Saturday.
Washington has been repeating the importance of extending GSOMIA.
Esper also told the press today that it's a critical agreement that must be maintained to "deal," in his words, with North Korea and China.
President Moon will likely reiterate why Seoul is unable to reverse its decision to end the military pact without a change in Japan's attitude on historical and trade issues.
