President Moon Jae-in will hold talks in the coming hours with visiting acting Pentagon chief Patrick Shanahan.
Officials at the top office say the South Korean leader will urge Shanahan to support Seoul's diplomatic efforts to denuclearize North Korea.
Shanahan will also meet with South Korea's defense minister Jeong Kyeong-doo.
They'll discuss the latest developments on the Korean Peninsula as well as efforts to ensure the transfer of wartime operational control of South Korean forces to the host country runs smoothly.
