美 북극 한파 강타…"동쪽 3분의 2 지역 기록적 추위" 예보

Brutal winter weather has come a lot earlier than expected to the east coast of the United States.
In fact, it will be a record-breaking deep freeze for the next five to seven days.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service, it's all part of a powerful Arctic blast.
The blast will hit the East Coast, sweeping the eastern two-thirds of the country with the coldest air of the season so far.
Lows on Monday night into Tuesday morning will be more like January across the Central U.S.
The city of Minnesota is forecast to dip to minus 18 degrees Celsius.
