Japan's imperial couple rides through Tokyo in grand enthronement parade

During a rare open-top car imperial parade on Sunday, tens of thousands of flag-waving people welcomed Japan's new Emperor Naruhito.
The Emperor in formal Western clothing and the Empress dressed in a long cream gown and jacket and of course a tiara rode through central Tokyo for 30 minutes on a 4-point-6 kilometer car parade.
Some in the crowd even camped overnight to watch the royal moment.
Naruhito acceded to the throne in May after his father, Akihito, became the first monarch to abdicate in two centuries.
The parade was originally set to take place on October 22nd when Naruhito officially proclaimed his enthronement, but it was postponed after the country faced a devastating typhoon last month.
